Mazda5 2010

I referred to this as a mini-minivan to a friend who owns a Mazda5 - and she got mad! She said there is no way she would EVER buy a minvan...this is a car!
So I stand corrected- this is NOT a minivan. But it sure is just as useful. The side doors slide open and shut (similar to a minivan) making it super easy to get in and out of in a tight space. You have 2 very comfortable captains' chairs in the second row. And the third row nice to have but is not recommended for adults! The seats all fold down flat and you have tonnes of room for storage. The roof height is higher than on a sedan so you have more useable space.
It sure drives and feels like a car when you are in it. You sit up higher and outward visibility is great. The steering is light, which I like, and the ride is very smooth. The brakes are not as smooth as the acceleration. Driving in the city, this little vehicle darts around corners with ease and parking is easy with no blind spots
Last year when my mom was test driving vehicles; this was one that I told her she needed to check out. She loved it so much she bought one -only complaint is that driving in Alberta, AWD would come in handy.

So if you want the convenience of a minivan but maybe want something smaller - the Mazda5 is worth checking out.
